The Eastgate Garden Civic Association was established in 1958 as a garden club which grew into an organization focused on both beautification and civic responsibility. The neighborhood has three islands that are maintained by the association on a volunteer basis. A neighborhood picnic and yard sale are organized each summer and a holiday party in December. A newsletter is distributed monthly and a meeting is held the first Monday of the month.
